Helen Bakker getting Royal recognition in the Netherlands. April 2022
On 26 April, highly esteemed NIP member Helen Bakker was surprised in the Town Hall in Utrecht with a royal decoration. She received the decoration as a token of appreciation, among other things for her years of dedication in the field of youth (rights), both nationally and internationally.
Hans de Veen, chairman of the NIP, as well as the EFPA President Christoph Steinebach warmly supported the application. Helen Bakker is - besides being a very active member since 1993 - of special significance for psychology, and in particular for psychodiagnostics, developmental psychology and school psychology. Her commitment to the training of (child and adolescent) psychologists is unprecedented.
She was also a very valued and active member in various EFPA working groups such as the former European Network of school psychologists, Board Educational affairs, EuroPsy, etc.
The EFPA community therefore congratulates her with this award.

The Portuguese Psychologists Association once again distinguished Portuguese organizations with management practices that promote safety, well-being and health in the workplace. 85 organizations applying for the this award and 64 awarded. The prize giving took place on April 6th and was attended by the Minister of Health and the secretary of state for labor.

The direction of the Portuguese Psychologists Association was received at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), in Paris. Four meetings, with different directors and employees of the institution, where, on several occasions, the importance of the existence of integrated public policies was underlined. All agree that the commitment to mental health and well-being must be a constant.
Peace, psychological health and well-being highlighted at the IX Educational Psychology Seminar

Hundreds of psychologists took place at the Figueira da Foz Arts and Shows Center, in central Portugal, for the IX Seminar on Educational Psychology. Peace and the contribution of psychologists to peace were one of the themes of this meeting, which brought together educational psychologists from all over the country. Other topics highlighted were crisis intervention, the existence of integrated policies, psychological health and well-being.
Award “Escola SaudávelMente” - Good Practices in Psychological Health, Well-being, Educational Success and Inclusion
Applications for the Award “Escola SaudávelMente” are open until June 17th. It’s a contribution by the Portuguese Psychologists Association to increase opportunities for access to quality, equitable and inclusive education for all. It also aims to disseminate policies and good practices in promoting psychological health, well-being and educational success in Portuguese schools. The jury is chaired by Margarida Gaspar de Matos.
5th Congress of Portuguese Psychologists Association
September, 28-30, 2022
The 5th congress of the Portuguese Psychologists Association will take place between the 28th and 30th of September, in the city of Aveiro. An event that has more of 150 speakers distributed in various formats, such as interviews, empowertalks, psitalks, debates and workshops. Arathi Sethumadhavan (Impact of artificial intelligence on humanity), Carlos Fernandes da Silva (“Legalândia” and “Mentalândia”: what cooperation for the sake of justice?) and Stepan G. Hofmann (Psychological intervention. Our identity and what else?) are some of the national and international Keynote Speakers already known.

Infocop Interview with the first psychologist to receive this recognition.
Rocio used to be the much appreciated convenor of the EFPA TF GeroPsychology for a long time.
The Equality Unit of the University of Salamanca (Spain) has organised an exhibition entitled "Honoris causa. 100 years with women doctorates at the University of Salamanca", an event through which tribute is paid to the 8 women who "for the cause of honour" have received honorary doctorates at the University of Salamanca (USAL).
On the occasion of this exhibition, Infocop Online wanted to interview one of the honorees: Rocío Fernández-Ballesteros, the first woman psychologist to receive an honorary doctorate in the Spanish university system.
In the following interview, Fernández-Ballesteros will explain what this recognition has meant for her and will talk about the current and future challenges in her field of research.

PhD course in person: ‘Designing, conducting and evaluating interventions in Sport and Exercise Psychology

Aim:
The aim of the course is to provide PhD students with more in-depth knowledge on designing, conducting and evaluating interventions in sport and exercise psychology. Further, students will gain practical experience on how to prepare manuscripts for publication, will learn about what editors are looking for in the manuscript submission process as well as the pros and cons of open science and research dissemination via social media. Students will also have the opportunity to network with international students and experts in the field. Finally, they will be given the chance to present and discuss their own work with the experts. Overall, the course will enable communication, networking and cooperation among students and experts.

From the 18th until the 27th of February 2022, the Board of EFPSA met in Croatia for the second In-Person meeting. They finalised the Strategic Planning 2023-2027, reviewed statutory documents, discussed a lot of matters of the Federation, gave feedback to each other and reflected on the mandate together, prepared for the handover of their positions and for the EFPSA Congress. Board members could also get to know each other more both personally and professionally.
After two years, EFPSA organised a hybrid 36th EFPSA Congress from the 11th until the 18th of April in Cyprus that around 250 psychology students joined either in person or online. The topic of the Congress was ‘E-Health: Taking a Step Towards the Future’. Students participated in lectures, workshops and plenary discussions on the topic of “digital well-being,” The Congress is very important for EFPSA as a Federation as it additionally marks the switch of mandates. The Board and members of the Working Community of 2022-2023 were elected and commenced their work. New Board of EFPSA consists of the President: Veronika Kocmanová, Vice President: Helin İklim Şahiner, Secretary General: Andrè Mifsud, Finance Officer: Milica Antić, and Member Representatives Officer: Celeste Awere.
Research Summer School is a one-week event when 32 students start conducting a one-year cross-cultural research project under the supervision of PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers. Theme of this year's RSS is “Community psychology: Seeking Empowerment, Embracing Diversity.” The event will take place from 11th until 18th of July in Ptolemaida, Greece.
Train Advanced Trainers is intended for 36 soft skills trainers to enhance their skills and networking with trainers from different national and international organisations. TAT focuses on a specific training topic, this time the theme is “Agents of Change - Trainers' Attitude, Influence and Responsibilities”, and will be organised from 17th until 25th September in Omanovac in Croatia.
Projects and news
Social Impact Initiatives was running two campaigns on destigmatisation of mental disorders - Mind the Mind in 19 countries, and Better Together in 14 countries. EFPSA also collaborated with A Creative Pause, and shared the Call to Action on the topic of Community Psychology. Member organisations organised an exchange between Malta and Austria, two exchanges have been planned between Belgium and Finland, and Cyprus and Greece. AAPS Axon from Montenegro got accepted as a new Observer Organisation.
