European Semester in Portugal - July-December 2015
It is with great honor that Portugal receives the first European Semester, from July 1 till December 31, which aims to be a forum for discussion and promotion of psychology and psychologists in the European area. During the European Semester 2015, there will be organized the following conferences:

October 22, 2015 : European Conference 'Disaster and Crisis Psychology'
The European Conference 'Disaster and Crisis Pyschology' took place on October 22.

The general goals underlying the Disaster and Crisis Psychology European Conference were the following:
- Discuss topics and practice issues of the psychological intervention in disaster and crisis situations;
- Debate the guidelines of psychological intervention in disaster scenarios;
- Provide a space for sharing knowledge, practices, experiences and the theoretical models that
support these psychological interventions;
- Discuss the ethical issues faced by Psychologists in the area of crisis intervention and disaster;
- Contribute to the recognition and affirmation of Psychology and Psychologists in emergency, crisis and disaster situations.
October 31, 2015 : European Conference 'Sports Psychology'
The general goals underlying the Sports Psychology European Conference are the following:
- Discuss relevant topics and issues to the professional practice of Sport Psychologists;
- Provide a space for sharing knowledge, practices and experiences in psychological intervention in sports context;
- Promote the creation of collaborative networks among European Sport Psychologists;
- Raise awareness about the role and importance of Psychology and Psychologists in Sport;
- Foster the creation of jobs for Psychologists and generate greater political attention on the subject.
November 9, 2015: European conference 'Work and Organizational Psychology'
The general goals underlying the Work and Organizational Psychology European Conference are the following:
- Discuss projects and best practices of Psychological Health and well-being promotion in the workplace;
- Recognize and affirm the role of psychologists in prevention and intervention on psychosocial risks at work;
- Raise awareness of the growing problem of stress and psychosocial risks related to work;
- Foster the creation of jobs for Psychologists and generate greater political attention on the subject.

The general goals underlying the Psychology and Health European Conference are the following:
- Promote the debate about Psychological Health and comprehensive, integrated and responsive Psychological Health Care in Europe;
- Promoting Psychological Health as a priority in European actions and policies;
- Develop coordinated strategies for prevention, promotion and intervention in Psychological Health at European level;
- Contribute to the recognition and affirmation of the role and importance of Psychologists in the Health Systems;
- Improve the quality of life, health and psychological well-being of the population;
- Foster the creation of jobs for Psychologists and generate greater political attention on the subject.
December 18, 2015 - European Conference 'Geropsychology'
The general goals underlying the Geropsychology European Conference are the following:
- Discuss topics and issues to the professional practice of Psychologists in the area;
- Provide a space for sharing knowledge, practices and experiences in psychological intervention;
- Raise awareness about the role and importance of Psychology and Psychologists in Geropsychology;
- Foster the creation of jobs for Psychologists and generate greater political attention on the subject.
