4. United Nations / UNFCCC and other global bodies

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change  (UNFCCC) is a treaty agreed in 1994 which has 197 Parties (196 countries and the EU).  The UNFCCC secretariat (UN Climate Change) is the United Nations entity tasked with supporting the global response to the threat of climate change. Other global bodies such as the World Health Organisation (the UN agency dedicated to advancing health for all since 1948) are also concerned with the impact of climate change.
