For me, this period of participation in the EAC was very productive
Three questions to Prof dr. Vlasta Zabukovec (Univ. of Ljubljana, univ. of Primorska).
Q: What are the highlights from your time on the EAC?
A: For me, this period of participation in the EAC was very productive. When I joined, it was past the period of "experimental gardens" and laid the foundation for the implementation of EuroPsy among EFPA members. Some members of the EAC were already well acquainted with the idea, but I myself have learned a lot in this period. A cooperative, supportive and inclusive approach within the EAC was, in my opinion, an approach that truly enabled the spread of the EuroPsy idea. In addition, I have also learned a lot of psychologists from across Europe, whose idea of uniform EuroPsy standards is close.
Q: What do you think the EuroPsy has achieved in the past eight years?
A: This period was very intensive in terms of developing the EuroPsy idea. During this time, a large number of EFPA members joined in and adopted the EuroPsy guidelines. Cooperation has been established, which has also been shown in joint projects (eg Slovenia-Norway) and conferences. The annual EuroPsy meeting was a good juncture for exchanging experiences, ideas and searching ways of implementation. I would also highlight the feedback system on the annual reports prepared by EuroPsy national committees. This helped us to better understand the needs and possibilities of individual NAC and guide the reports to a higher quality. In doing so, I must also point out that in the development it was very important that in spite of some examples of good practice, there remains open possibilities for finding new options for NACs.
Q: What hopes do you have for the future of EuroPsy in Europe?
A: I believe that the EuroPsy idea will continue to evolve. I would very much like to have psychologists with EuroPsy become even more connected all over Europe. I see the possibilities of interconnectivity (e.g. projects, conferences, etc. ). Furthermore, I want to maintain high standards of our profession.
