Healthy Workplaces Campaign 2023-2025
EFPA accepted as partner

As the umbrella organization in Europe for national psychologists’ associations, EFPA is delighted to be one of the official campaign partners of Safe and healthy work in the digital age 2023-2025 to create safer and healthier workplaces for everyone’s benefit.

Mental health in the workplace is a key focus of EFPA's advocacy efforts. Considering the significant role of work in the lives of European citizens and the connection between economic stability and societal welfare, EFPA emphasises the necessity of promoting mental health and wellness in work environments. This should be a priority and it could be integrated into health and safety regulations to guarantee comprehensive implementation at the national level.

The 'H-WORK project' recognised by the EC as a best practice in the field of mental health

The EU-funded 'H-WORK project,' in which EFPA is a partner, has earned recognition from the European Commission (EC) as a best practice in the field of mental health.

The call for best and promising practices in mental health, initiated last year, aimed to assist Member States in addressing significant challenges in mental health. The specified topic areas closely align with the Commission Communication for a comprehensive approach to mental health, adopted in June 2023.

The H-WORK project, spanning from January 2020 to September 2023, strives to effectively promote mental health while providing policy recommendations tailored for employers, occupational health professionals, and policymakers. Project deliverables include an online platform to support employers and HR professionals to address mental health at their workplaces as well as a series of policy papers drafted by EFPA.

Representatives from the University of Bologna and EFPA will present the project to Member States' experts during an online "marketplace" event scheduled for 11-13 March 2024. This event serves as a platform to showcase the project's merits.

If the project garners selection for implementation by EU Member States, it is poised to receive additional co-funding through the EU4Health Programme. The acknowledgment of 'H-WORK' as a best practice underscores its potential impact on advancing mental health initiatives.
